KEXP Suggests – Drive-By Truckers

Drive-By Truckers SXSW.jpg

It was great to have Drive-By Truckers as part of our live broadcast from Austin during SXSW this year. They played an awesome set and you can listen to their exclusive performance, recorded live on 3/17/2006 – (WMA, REAL)

Last month, The Truckers released an impressive new album called A Blessing and a Curse

“The Truckers stretch out on their 7th album by using a variety of different influences to broaden their Southern rock sound. Echoes of the Replacements, the Stones, the Faces, Southern soul and more can be heard, but the sound is still indisputably the Truckers’ own. While their last three albums comprised a trilogy about the South, they tackle a range of personal topics here, and with three of the finest songwriters working today, nearly every song is a memorable one.” – Don Yates

The Truckers are taking their new record on the road all summer, and KEXP is proud to present the Drive-By Truckers with Son Volt, tonight at The Showbox with special guest Curt Kirkwood.

Visit the KEXP Live Performances Archive to listen to an exclusive in-studio performance from Son Volt on 9/4/2005 – (WMA, REAL)
