KEXP is proud to present Goldfrapp tonight at The Showbox with our very own DJ Darek Mazzone!

“This British duo’s 3rd album Supernature carries forward the glam-flavored electro dance-pop of their previous release Black Cherry, while lightening things up just a bit. Like Black Cherry, it’s chilly yet deeply sensuous, thanks in no small part due to the breathy presence of lead singer Alison Goldfrapp.” – Don Yates

Tonight’s show is sold out, but tune in all next week to our remote broadcast from Gigantic Studios in NYC. John Richards and Cheryl Waters will broadcast live with performances from more than twenty artists, including Goldfrapp.

I’ll be there tonight. Going to be a great show I think, although I’ve never seen ‘em live, so I guess it will be a surprise :)

Say “Hi Pete” to the (probably drunk) dude in the peach shirt with white and blue stripes :)

Pete so hit on me all show. At first he was just this guy in a peach shirt pivot dancing (you know feet flat nodding your torso forward to or against the beat, possibly alternating with a double knee bend. if you don’t know what I’m talking about think elevator dancing. Now, forget it because it’s nothing like elevator dancing).
A couple beers in, the arms started to flap, next thing I know peach shirt with white & blue stripes is bumping into me saying, “sorry baby, oh hey sweetie, wanta dance.” I have a wooden leg so I don’t dance. Mahogany with a yin yang craved into it. Additionally, it sports a drawing of a dwarf and elf fighting an orc. Don’t ask, let’s just say you shouldn’t pass out drunk at a D&D convention after some brash heckling and swallowing someone’s d20
    “my name’s …”

I was going to quip, “Hey, I’ll take another beer.” Instead I blurted out, “so dude, you like long haired petite men.”
Hey, I can’t help it if my back sports a money trunk, you try jogging with a wooden leg.

Thus the seduction of Pete ended, right before Goldfrapp played “Strict Machine”

Cheers to Pete, hope you enjoyed the show
