We’re happy to welcome Cloud Cult back to KEXP for a live performance at 5 pm! If you haven’t already heard it, Advice From the Happy Hippopotamus is a must listen…

“The fourth album from this project led by Minnesota’s Craig Minowa is another adventurous outing combining fractured indie-rock and folk with hip hop/electronic beats. A wide variety of instrumentation and sounds are used to flesh out Minowa’s passion-fueled songs, which focus this time around on mortality and celebrating life. Minowa’s own tragedy-filled life is a central part of the album’s story: He lost a two-year-old son to sudden illness, his wife subsequently left him, and he’s since been diagnosed with a rare spinal nerve disease, making his life-affirming lyrical stance all the more brave.” – Don Yates

I’m conflicted between seeing these guys tonight and seeing The Starlight Mints at Neumos. I’m in love with both of these bands and don’t know which way to go!

Definitely have to listen to them at 5pm.
