You know what happens when you bring Seattle to NYC? You bring the rain and leave everyone in Seattle with 85 degree weather and sunny. WTF? We don’t care, we’re in our new NYC bunker….the Gigantic Studios and we load in early and we stay late every day.
21 in-studios, tons of music that we play on our show mixed inbetween and the general idea to make “great radio” if we can. That’s part of it. You have to get out of the box, you have to challenge yourself and the station to make sure the bands get on the air, the bands that may or may not even have the ability to tour all the while trying to entertain and to educate at the same time. We sometimes fail but we always try to bring you the best and most unique broadcast we can.
Today we started with a GREAT set from Teenage Prayers….always hard to be the first band to start the week but they brought it. Next The Mugs played and that’s going to be hard to top. Dozens of emails came in during their set and the band was crazy talented. At one point, the singer used the grand piano located in the room with all our listeners, it was a very cool moment where you are literally connecting the listener, the band and the live broadcast. Made my day. I hope you’re liking what we do here, so far so good……The Diggs set is starting, gotta go……
