So… Are they ACTUALLY scientists?

I have some sad news to report, Tuesday May 16th is the day I decided to leave radio, sell all my stuff, leave my family and go on the road with Ghostland Observatory. Cheryl is doing the same. She’s buying a camper van and we’re going on the road and never missing another Ghostland show for the rest of time. Okay I’m kidding, the in-studio yesterday was one thing but the live show? I was dancing. I was. I wasn’t even drunk. Granted I found me some more of that malt liquor energy drink to keep me going but by the time they hit the stage I was sober enough to not want to freak out. But there I was at the PACKED Delancey with my fellow KEXP’ers front and center and we were indeed, freaking out.

We are bringing them to Seattle. All should recoginize. I am 100% sure you will love them if you don’t already from their releases…..unless you are evil or into young country or smooth jazz….which is evil. Oh and there are only two of them playing. The frontman is Mick Jagger and Prince’s son I believe. Granted those two having a baby is kind of gross but I’m telling you, the man can DANCE.

French Kicks are playing right now, holy crap they sound GREAT. Very solid….rockin’ out. Good times. I hope my voice comes back soon.

Okay I wrote that many hours ago. Now I’ve seen Ambulance LTD, who were GREAT. Bunch of new songs….just a great vibe….then Summer Lawns. Man. If you haven’t heard them, PLEASE check out the Streaming Archive.

That to me defines why we come here, a great independent band who wouldn’t be in the studio if we weren’t here playing new songs that were beautiful. Please check them out.

Almost impossible to pick which band to showcase on the podcast but We Are Scientists blew everyone away with their set that finished our day of broadcasting. Showing why they have gotten the attention they have, WAS walked in, warmed up and rocked it. If you love the rock and you love talented bands, you’re going to really be excited about this podcast…we even got them to play one more song to end the day with an encore.
