One of the more exciting live acts in Seattle right now, Thee Emergency went to Detroit to record their debut album with noted producer Jim Diamond, a smart move considering the group’s affinity with Detroit punk and garage-rock. Diamond did a fine job of capturing the band’s raw, high-energy blend of garage-rock and soul, fleshing out their basic guitar-rock attack with occasional organ, sax, harmonica and tambourine. Dita Vox’s fiery vocals, some great guitar riffs and a tight rhythm section add up to one of Seattle’s finest rock bands. The debut full length, Can You Dig It? is due out next month. Until then, here are a few songs from their self-released EP…

Get It Up – (MP3)
The Dope Song – (MP3)
Bad News – (MP3)
Sweat Sex – (MP3)

Thee Emergency were in-studio last summer, check out their performance at our Live Performances Archive from 7/22/05 – (WMA, Real)

They’re playing a whole bunch of dates, but the next time you can catch them is at the Crocodile on June 17 for their record release party with The Cops and Iceage Cobra.
