Great Song of the Day podcast today. It’s a live version of “Painless Life” by Slender Means from last year’s Neon & Ruin. This Seattle band’s debut is an amazingly accomplished album of indie pop-rock perfection. Every single song is spiked with memorable hooks. Great sound courtesy of veteran Seattle producer Martin Feveyer – the band sounds fabulous throughout, with Josh Dawson’s excellent vocals bearing an uncanny resemblance to Pete Krebs. In a year of great Northwest releases, Neon & Ruin was one of the very best.
You can sign up for our Song of the Day podcast and visit the KEXP Live Performances Archive to listen to the entire in-studio performance from Slender Means on 12/4/05 – (WMA, Real)
If you’re heading out to Sasquatch! this weekend, be sure to check them out.
