The station is flooding! Outside our front door – 6/2/06

Okay maybe not but the streets outside our front door are filled with water and a downpour hit our fine radio station this afternoon. We knew it was trouble when the UPS driver came in and said our gutter was spraying water all over the streets of Seattle! Turns out our gutter is upside down and actually defying the laws of physics. Anyway, I’m grabbing a small boat and floating home to ballard where I’ve heard reports that my basement might be flooding. Its as if its never rained here before?!

And, now it’s sunny again. No wonder we’re all so crazy here.

Your upside down “gutter” is actually a cleanout and should have a cap on it. I only know this because I removed the cap on the roof drain that runs through the middle of my welding shop, as a place to pour out old cups of coffe, etc. One day as I was working peacefully on a sculpture, I heard what sounded like a jet airplane slowly approaching, until very large hose came shooting out of the hole spraying copious amounts of water and whipping around like the head of the hydra, flooding my shop. Unbeknownst to me my neighbor 200 feet away had a clogged drain, and the nimrod running the vacuum truck decided to run his cleanout hose up hill insted of down. Last time I checked water runs down hill.
Needless to say I have since replaced the cap.

Damn water falling from the sky like it owns the place.
