Hey hey hey!
(No, it’s not Fat Albert, it’s Lisa, but that sounded good)

I’m super excited about the broadcast from the High Dive on Saturday! These broadcasts have been so incredible and we have you to thank for that. Each one has sold out so far, helping many charities in our community and this one will all benefit Fare Start. If you don’t have a ticket yet, just hit the events page at Kexp.org for all the details.

It’s really fun to get out of the DJ booth and meet the listeners, feel the energy of the crowd and connect you guys with some great local music. I must admit that it freaks me out a little when we go live and everyone in the room turns around to look at us…I’m so used to being in that little bubble at the station. Broadcasting from places in the community has always been on my list of things to do though and I’m grateful for the opportunity. It’s a blast.

I’m flyin’ solo this time, so I’ll be holding fun, witty, banter-like conversations with myself, haha! Stop on by, maybe I’ll put YOU on the air!

Have you seen the line up? It’s killer! Velella Velella play live on the air at 6:30pm and Mercir plays live on the air at 8pm. I’ll be broadcasting and playing local music in-between. That’s all you can get on the air, so If you want to catch all of the bands, come on down. From 9pm-9:45pm DJ Mr. Hill will be spinning (if you haven’t heard his hip hop record, you need to). Then rounding out the night we have The Saturday Knights, Cancer Rising and Mountain Con.

Holy cow, you have no idea how much great music you’re in store for! Such a huge amount of talent in one place. I do need to say a big thank you to all of the bands and artists that play these, as they’re doing it on their own dime to help the cause. Thank you, we appreciate it SO much!

So, if you’re at the High Dive, be sure to come over and say hi. Thank you for supporting local music, local radio and for helping us support our community.

Here are a few from The Bay of Biscay by Mountain Con:

Do Not Fold/Do Not Bend – (MP3)
Hunter – (MP3)
The Bread Is Hard As Crackers – (MP3)

‘Til next time…..

Well, the bad news is that i am too far from High Dive and I will hardly have an opportunity to see you ( though I have already seen: you ) and listen to you and other guys. But I have downloaded some songs that will make me smile and think that everything is not so bad after all.
