In case you’re not tired of thinking (and reading) about New Year’s resolutions, we here at Three Imaginary Girls headquarters have been hemming and hawing about how to end 2007 as evolved versions of our 2006 selves. Hmm… how about trying out new things? Here’s the beginning of our list of 2007 action items:

Our first resolution is a promise to diversify our entertainment experience and take advantage of Seattle’s smaller theatre and art venues throughout the year. In coming month’s we’ll keep on the number of amazing art walks throughout town, but this week, it is about diving in deep to theatre thanks to the Capitol Hill Arts Center (CHAC) for presenting 14/48 – The World’s Quickest Theater Festival. During the course of the festival, 14 plays are conceived, written, designed, scored, rehearsed, and performed in 48 hours to fit a new theme chosen at random for each night. The festival runs the next couple weekends (Friday, January 5th / Saturday, January 6th and Friday, January 12th / Saturday, January13th).

We’re sure that we’re not the only ones that constantly search Seattle’s Craig’s List to the point of obsession. The site is filled with things you need, things you don’t need, and things you can convince yourself you need – and they’re all within driving distance. And then there are fun listings for “Lazyboy chairs for Stoners” and “My ex-boyfriend’s wedding dress.” That’s how you get hooked. Well, 2007 is going to be a year filled with wise Craig’s List purchases such as bookcases, toolboxes, and storage bins that can be used to manage all of your 2006 Craig’s List swag. And if you happen to find that gently used set of vintage rockers you’ve been looking for, so be it. If you’re beyond organizing your plethora of items, perhaps you should give some of your overflowing goodies to the needy. Sleep well and virtual window shop carefully.

Happy resolutioning!
