A lot of love for the Northwest at the Plug Awards on Saturday. Congrats to all the winners. We’re very flattered, thanks so much for all your awesome support!
Come on… you know you still love the Police, even in their reunited form. Watch a them perform ‘Roxanne’ at this year’s Grammy Awards. Here’s a dose of vintage Police from Waved Rumor. Let it also be known that the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy provides some great support for local musicians.
Arctic Monkeys previewed their forthcoming record at a secret show on Saturday, courtesy of Stereogum. Listen to the performance at YouTube. The video quality isn’t so hot, but the audio is pretty nice.
Rock Plaza Central recently signed to Yep Roc. Get info on their upcoming tour and SXSW appearance.
The Faces absolutely rock.
Rob Dickinson adds some East coast dates.
“Lily Allen + Booze = Fights with Mike Skinner and Jet.” Nice.
Here’s what Tiny Mix Tapes has to say about SXSW.
Fat Tuesday is just around the corner, and An Aquarium Drunkard made a nice post about Dr. John.
The Arcade Fire recently covered ‘The Guns of Brixton’ by the Clash at a show in London. Thanks to You Ain’t No Picasso and Its Too Long for posting the audio:
VERY cool performance of Gang of Four performing ‘Damaged Goods’ at the Fillmore in San Francisco from 2005, courtesy of Pampelmoose.
