Today in Music: Grizzly Bear, Bright Eyes, the Decemberists, Lily Allen, Fields, Albert Hammond Jr and more

Thanks so much to a listener named Devin Jensen for e-mailing us about an incredible series called The Take-Away Shows from the Paris based music blog La Blogotecheque. The series features improvised performances from artists in public spaces. They are REALLY impressive and we’re going to feature them here regularly. Here’s the video of Grizzly Bear performing ‘Shift’ from their first record Horn of Plenty, in a small Parisian bathroom. Awesome!

hey if you’re into Lily Allen, then check out her buddies KLAXONS.

i would describe them as a blend of cosmic imagery, sci-fi futurist themes, punk ethos, and the ability to mesh these together into a musical hodgepodge of utmost sincere pop songs.

their new album “myths of the near future” comes out march 27 in the US and it rules. go out and buy the album or you can actually purchase it NOW on Itunes.
