Today in Music: Tapes ‘N Tapes, Arcade Fire, Jesus and Mary Chain, the Flaming Lips, Kaiser Chiefs, the Wrens

Here’s another video from an incredible series called The Take-Away Shows. It’s produced by the Paris based music blog La Blogotecheque and features improvised performances from artists in public spaces. Yesterday we posted the video of Grizzly Bear and here’s Tapes ‘N Tapes performing ‘Insistor’ in the streets of Paris.

  • The Arcade Fire recently performed at New York’s Judson Memorial Church in New York on Feb. 17, 2007. It was originally webcast on NPR, read more about the Arcade Fire and download the entire performance:

  • Very cool interview with the Wrens. Brandon Stosuy of Stereogum finds out how they make ends meet.
  • Tortoise announce a summer tour. They’ll be at Neumos on June 26.
  • Here’s a really cool new video from Asobi Seksu, animated by Major Lightner and Ryan Bosworth. Thanks to Stereogum for posting.
