Four Reasons You Live in Seattle

There’s a ton of different reasons that we’ve all ended up living in the fine city of Seattle. Whether for love, employment, or the long days of summer, we’ve ended up in a city that specializes in offering its residents dazzling options of the music ilk. Here are a few reasons we love Seattle this week:

1. You can cross paths with Peter Buck while he stands at the bar! Tonight (Friday), Robyn Hitchcock & The Venus 3 (Peter Buck is one of the Venus 3) will be headlining an evening of fine entertainment at the Crocodile. Starting the night off we’ve got Sean Nelson & His Mortal Enemies and Johanna Kunin. Yes, a night where you can join Robyn, Pete, and Sean all at the bar… Seattle dreamy!

2. You can go to a showcase of local bands that benefits local charities. The fine folks at KEXP have put together a show of four notable local bands with all proceeds benefiting The World Affairs Council, an organization that aims to promote dialogue and debate about critical world issues. It’s a full night of action starting at 6p with on-air performances by with The Cops and Coho. At 9:.30pm, the showcase starts with performances Shake Some Action, The Hands, the Whore Moans, and The Cops. All that music in the name of a good deed? Sweet!

3. You can participate in a Gong Show! Thank goodness for the folks at the Stranger who have their finger on the pulse of the ‘wacky talented people’ in our community and the organization skills to rally them together in the name of the Gong! Thursday, April 12th we’ll be at the Crocodile laughing, booing, and cheering on our community’s finest!

4. You can get love advice from a rockstar! If can’t get a straight answer from Pete Buck when you chat him up at the Crocodile bar (which, for the record, we don’t recommend… act naturally dude!), you can email Visqueen chanteuse Rachel Flotard. Rachel is now dishing weekly doses of love advice every Friday on Three Imaginary Girls. Need to know how to tell your roommate you’re in love with him/her? She’s got the answer that will get results. Write her now!

Thankfully yours,
