Here are some quick news links for you:
Idolator reports that the last residence of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash burned to the ground yesterday.
Each Note Secure has some live video clips of Sufjan Stevens performing some new songs.
The White Stripes‘ icky new artwork for their forthcoming album is being critiqued all of the blogosphere, as here on The Modern Age.
Apparently, the former drummer of Blur is running for a position in the Westminster Council. Read the story and check out the interview over at The Tripwire.
Legal times are tough for many artists these days: Snoop Dogg faces drug and gun charges, The Beach Boys lost their lawsuit against two men whom they claim stole $60 million worth of memorabilia, and an ex-manager of The Grateful Dead has been sentenced for income tax evasion. Good thing all is well in the world of indie rock! (right?)
While it may not (yet anyway) be a legal issue, Lily Allen is none too thrilled about a MySpace parody by “LDN is a Victim”, who skewers her for being “middle class”, and responds in the cheeky fashion you’d expect. Aversion has the story.
