Mark your calendars for some all-ages action and indie-rock fashion shows. And is spring raising its blooming head?
Friday, April 13: Young Sportsmen, Eux Autres, Patience Please, Friskey at Atlas Clothing
Saturday, April 14: Central Services, Shorthand for Epic, Patient Patient, Elevado, Atlas Clothing
It is a great sign when vintage clothing stores clear space to host all-ages shows with really cheap ticket prices. It is even better when enthusiasm and public response is so great that they expand the show schedule to shows on both Friday and Saturday nights. This Friday AND Saturday, Atlas Clothing on Capitol Hill is hosting action-packed four-band bills two nights in a row. Whether you go to see imaginary Liz’s favorite Portland brother-sister duo (Eux Autres) or imaginary Dana’s favorite underage Seattle quartet (Patience Please) on Friday, or see what this band Elevado (who drove here all the way from Atlanta, GA) are all about… you should support this all-ages effort (and you’ll have a super-swell time doing so).
Next thing you know our favorite local designers will start hosting indie rock fashion shows with a couple of our favorite bands on the bill. Wait… they are!
Thursday, April 19: Siberian, Ghost Stories, and the Velouria Boutique Fashion Show at The Crocodile
This Thursday there’s a reason to dress-up in your finest and rockout. Ballard’s Velouria Boutique is hosting a night featuring a fashion show of Seattle’s favorite independent designers and a music showcase with Siberian and Ghost Stories (both of the Sonic Boom Recordings label). Siberian, with their exquisite new release Hey Celestial!, captivates audiences with their souring brit-pop flavored melodies. Folks should catch Ghost Stories now as the head Ghost Story, Ron Lewis is a member of the recently SubPop crowned Grand Archives. In case you haven’t heard, Grand Archives will be touring with Modest Mouse and will subsequently be taking over the world. We can only expect that all that ruling doesn’t leave much time for Ghost Stories… Ron is only human after all (we think).
