The Blue Scholars will celebrate their new album at The Showbox

We can’t even tell you how crazy tonight’s show going schedule is. Depending upon what your feeling like, there’s something going on tonight (Friday, May 11th) that’s fits your mood.

Take your pick!

U.S.E. at the Old Firehouse in Redmond
It’s a benefit for a dear friend of the Seattle music community Erik Howk (of pop-wonders The Lashes). All proceeds raised from the show will go to help out with his hospital bills and rehabilitation expenses. And U.S.E. is supa-fun to see live.

Vindaloo, Visqueen, and Skullbot at the Crocodile
Rumors have abounded over the last few weeks about who the super secret band taking the stage tonight at the Crocodile. Well, word is now officially out… let it be known that Visqueen is taking the stage with their sass-mouthed leading lady and rocking set of vaxxine-r-ific songs.

Degenerate Art Ensemble at the Vera Project {all ages}
Celebrate the first stop on the Degenerate Art Ensemble‘s West Coast tour at an all ages Vera show. Each DAE performance is a cacophony of music and dance with expressive twists and turns.

Blue Scholars at the Showbox {all ages}
Blue Scholars are celebrating the release of their new album with a mega show worthy of their perfect new release.

Your Favorite Book at Mr. Spot’s Chai House
igLiz’s favorite local band, Your Favorite Book, of the moment will be playing songs from the new release Scotch Hog. The Mountain Goats meets Neutral Milk Hotel meets Clem Snide songs will warm the chilliest of iced latte hearts.

And that is just Friday night! The rest of the weekend is just as promising. Might we suggest:

Saturday, May 12th
The A-Frames at the Funhouse
Blue Scholars at the Showbox {all ages}*
The Blakes, Speaker Speaker, and The Whore Moans at the Crocodile

Sunday, May 13th
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Angels, The Horrors at the Showbox
Peter Bjorn & John at Neumo’s {2 shows!}

Roll the dice,
three imaginary girls

In high iPod rotation:
Bright Eyes
Blue Scholars
