Did you all watch the final episode of The Price is Right today? It was Bob Barker’s last day on the Price is Right today… did you all watch? A group of us just watched it (tears, and many car giveaways, were had) and don’t even think that there’s a way that we’re going to miss the replay of the final BB episode tonight! Bob Barker, we love you!
How to counter balance the day of reflection and sadness? How about some indulgence in guilty pleasures? Tonight is the “Guilty Pleasure Cover Night” at the High Dive with folks like The Maldives, Red Jacket Mine, Transmissionary Six, C’est L’Amour, and Life in a Blender leading the way in helping us recover from the Bob Barker farewell.
We at three imaginary girls have always been interested in what people really listen to when they’re alone in their cars or what songs they sing while showering. In fact, one of the most precious moments in tig history was two years ago when an unknown (at the time, anyways) local band, BOAT offered to cover a song of our choice if we would come to one of their first shows at the Beacon Hill Pub. IgLiz didn’t hesitate to tell them her guilty pleasure song of the moment “Ignition (Remix) by R Kelly.” Bless their hearts, they hadn’t even heard the song but they found it, learned it, and played it. Ah, we digress.
The High Dive is hosting a Guilty Pleasures Cover Night on Friday. We’re not sure what these great local bands are going to play, but if they’re looking for suggestions (and a way to win our collective hearts) igChar would like to hear anything by Justin Timberlake, igDana yearns for some Toto (YACHT Rock anyone?), and igLiz wants to see if BOAT’s “Ignition (Remix) the remix” can be topped.
You’re our biggest guilty pleasure,
three imaginary girls
