On Saturday at 3:00, The DT’s will bring their “hard soul” sounds to 180 Minutes with Jack Walters. Later that night the Bellingham rockers play Jules Maes Saloon. For a preview, check out our Song of the Day podcast for The DT’s “Freedom” posted earlier on the KEXP Blog, where you can read about the band and view a live video.Later, on Saturday evening, live on Audioaisis you can catch Speaker Speaker at 6:00 pm and Lake of Falcons at 8:00 pm for two ripping sets of punk-influenced rock. On Monday night at 6:00 pm, Jon Kertzer kicks off Best Ambiance with a live performance by The Kusun Enemble, a group of musicians and dancers from Ghana, West Africa. According to their website, the group includes former members of The National Ballet and The Pan African Orchestra, who perform a new style of dance and music they call Nokoko (literally “something something” in Ga), comprising “innovative rhythms and dances by fusing bass and lead guitar, electrifying jazz and African rhythms, and traditional Ghanaian instruments.” To get an idea, listen to this song, named after their new style:
