Feeling like the onslaught of new music this year is never ending? Last year was a relative desert of desert island discs -- we’ve probably had more great new releases so far this year than all of 2006 put together. While it’s not looking like we can add Magnetic Fields (2008) to that list, and it seems doubtful that Radiohead will make it through the gate on time, there’s still a lot more to come. And this week’s offerings add more indecision to your ongoing “best of the year” list.

The always-on-it Largehearted Boy serves up the list of this week’s new releases, which include the much anticipated Icky Thump by The White Stripes. Other albums vying for your wallet’s moth food include the debut full-length by Maps and the new project by former Beta Banders who formed The Aliens. Also, worth the duckets: a whole bunch of follow-ups by the likes of Art Brut, Matt Pond PA, The Polyphonic Spree, Two Gallants, The Mooney Suzuki, and Amiina. If you’re looking for a taste, try these:

Amiina - Rugla (MP3)

Arthur & Yu - Absurd Heroes Manifestos (MP3)

Art Brut - Pump Up The Volume (MP3)

Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (MP3)Jennifer Gentle - Electric Princes (MP3) Maps - To The Sky (MP3)

Maserati - 12/16 (MP3)

The Polyphonic Spree - Running Away (MP3)

Rocky Votolato - Postcard From Kentucky (MP3)

Sir Richard Bishop - Mahavidya (MP3)

Von Südenfed - Flooded (MP3)

Thanks to Spinner, Pitchfork, Obscure Sound and The Tripwire for the assist.

This song gets honorable mention: ex-member of The Concretes Victoria Bergsman has a new project called Taken By Trees, which receives its debut in the U.K. this week but still lacks American distribution. U.S. distributors take note: Taken By Trees - Too Young (MP3) And it just doesn’t stop. Ryan Adams‘ latest arrives next week, and Interpol‘s next comes out on July 10. Here’s a sneak peek of “The Scale” to work you into a lather:
