Every Monday through Friday, we deliver a different song as part our Song of the Day podcast subscription. This podcast features exclusive KEXP in-studio performances, unreleased songs, and recordings from independent artists that our DJs think you should hear. Today’s featured selection, chosen by Morning Show host John Richards, is D.A.N.C.E. by Justice from the 2007 albumon Vice Records.

Justice – D.A.N.C.E. (MP3)

One year in the making, is unintentionally taking over dance floors all over the world. Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay, graphic designers before hooking up, formed in 2003 after remixing Simian’s Never Be Alone for a college radio contest in Paris. Shortly after losing the contest, Justice won an invitation to join Ed Banger Records, run by Pedro Winter, manager of oft comparative Daft Punk. Like Daft Punk a decade ago, Justice is attempting to reinvigorate the club scene in Paris with their own version of French Touch meets indie-rock. In the meantime, D.A.N.C.E. is receiving so much remix attention, hearing the original may sound foreign.

Check out their MySpace page and the blogosphere for tons of info on the duo that is redefining chic. For those who haven’t seen it, here is the video for D.A.N.C.E.:
