One of the many features you’ll find on the KEXP Live Performances Archive are the full-length videos of our VIP Club Concert Series.
Currently, there are five performances, available for free on The Seattle Channel, from artists including Billy Bragg, The Black Angels, Jose Gonzales, and Joseph Arthur, a frequent guest at KEXP, who brought a full band to The Triple Door for an outstanding hour-long set.
Singer/Songwriter Joseph Arthur, for those of you unfamiliar with him, was discovered by Peter Gabriel in the mid-’90s and soon signed to his Real World label. The Akron, Ohio, native has released six critically acclaimed albums over the years and is an accomplished painter of abstract art. Each album finds Arthur experimenting with different sounds, from his solo loop-based compositions to his full band rock sound like you’ll hear on this performance.
Here’s a clip from the set, of Joseph Arthur and The Lonely Astronauts performing “Black Lexus.”
