Be sure to tune in today at noon for Tiny Vipers, live on KEXP. Then, just announced, Guru and Jazzmatazz will perform live in our studio at 4:30 pm.
This past week, KEXP’s hosted some killer in-studio performances — eight in all after our studio was swamped with the ‘Spree last weekend. The Effing Eagles brought the rock, Chow Nasty brought the funk, Airiel rocked out, and Shane Tutmarc and the Traveling Mercies served up the twang. Maximo Park stripped down, while Bad Dream Good Breakfast beefed up, nearly outnumbering the Polyphonic Spree, and Brent Amaker and the Rodeo walked the line. What about Vampire Weekend? Well, the indie rock upstarts brought all three daytime DJ’s into the station — on a Sunday, no less! — to witness their exuberant set of African-rhythm infused music: the perfect end to a full week.
Fortunately for you, our team of expert photographers were on-hand to photograph all of these excellent performances. Be sure to check out the photos for each one, linked to our kexplive Flickr account below. Also, if you missed these performances or want to listen to them again, you can still catch them on the Streaming Archive for fourteen days after the event.
