The 5th Annual KEXP BBQ this past Saturday was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who came out and to the bands and the amazing staff and volunteers who helped make it happen. While the skies changed from sunny to overcast to drizzly, the fans remained undeterred. The Blakes admirably ripped at 3pm, the Cave Singers‘ moody Appalachian stomp-meets-indie rock was tighter than ever, Pela swelled with stadium-sized emotion, Blue Scholars raised spirits as well as arms, and Cloud Cult capped the night with their personally poignant set that drew to a close with a rending rendition of “Mr. Tambourine Man.”
Not only that, but KEXP DJs were on hand to give out free CDs and even crowd surf!
We had four photographers on hand to record the event, so you’ll get to live or relive the experience throughout the week. Today’s photographs come from Ron Henry:
