Experimental group Kinetic Stereokids provided a dirty, gritty, jam-band live set to kick off day 3 of KEXP’s live broadcast. The four-piece Chicago-area band are dedicated to distance sound-creation and with smoky R&B style vocals, political commentary about life in the Midwest. Pulling from a diverse musical background in hip hop, dub, and blues and the occasional synthesized and infused samples, Kinetic Stereokids have found a way to create a sound all to their own, all while commuting weekly throughout the Midwest to make it happen for rehearsal and recording. Finding inspiration even in their own basement, Kinetic Stereokids take life and simply turn it into music.
