Knights by Minus the Bear from the 2007 album Planet of Ice on Suicide Squeeze.
Minus the Bear have been flirting with greatness since their debut album. Planet of Ice, the third in their catalog, is another step in the right direction. Former keyboardist, Matt Bayles, left the band in favor of audio production, the role he fills on Planet of Ice. With Bayles behind the boards and new member Alex Rose behind the keys, MTB have a fuller, louder sound, accentuating the tightness of the band’s instrumentals like never before. Dave Knudson’s guitar work has never sounded so good, and the time changes are as awe-inspiring as ever. The new songs have also gotten a bit longer, coinciding with the introduction of more prog in the mix. Appropriately, the album release took place at the Laserdome, giving Planet of Ice the Pink Floyd treatment. MTB are currently on a massive US tour which ends 11/10 at the Showbox with great support from Helio Sequence and Grand Archives. Check out the official album page to stream the whole disc.
