The DJ’s, staff, and volunteers of KEXP had a fantastic time during last week’s Chicago broadcast, and you can bet that we’ll be there again. A huge thanks goes out to all the great people at Engine Studios, including interns Michelle Vednerack and Dane Cody and house engineer Balthazar de Ley. Also, thanks to Amy Bauer of Loveless Records for donating her time, and KEXP’s Meredith Tucker and DJ Shannon, who went on on their own dime to spend some time in their former hometown and to be at the broadcast helping out with the blog.
One of the volunteers we need to thank the most is Chicago-based photographer Susana Meza. Her vivid photos brought the performances to life for those of us not fortunate enough to be at Engine Studios. To see all of her incredible photos, check out these slideshows:
Don’t forget — if you missed any of the broadcast or want to hear it again, you can go back on our 14-day Streaming Archive and listen again. Also, be sure to subscribe to our Live Performances podcasts. We’ve already made available performances by Beirut, The Twilight Sad, and The Jai-Alai Savant as podcasts and plan to launch more.
