Out This Week: New Releases 10/23

If you’re typically one to miss the boat on the latest new music (hey, we can’t all be hipsters), then you’ll be quite pleased with this week’s new releases, which contain a plethora of reissues, like The Virginian by Neko Case, Vol. 1 by The Besnard Lakes, Lochloosa by Mofro, Comments of the Inner Chorus by Tunng, and Blue Scholars’ self-titled debut. Other reissues are available from Of Montreal, Turbonegro, Nick Drake, and two from Black Moth Super Rainbow. Also, while it’s more of a sequel than a reissue, Neil Young’s Chrome Dreams II takes you back to early moments in the Canadian rock legend’s career.

Beyond that, there are some fantastic releases this week that are brand-spanking new — from Babyshambles, West Indian Girl, Black Dice, Seabear, The Warlocks, Dave Gahan, Shooter Jennings, Ween, Phosphorescent, Castanets, and a whole lot more. Highly recommended new releases from KEXP faves Yeasayer and local bands Tullycraft and Siberian are also available. Even Ryan Adams feels compelled to churn another one out, though this time an EP with covers and live songs. Check out Largehearted Boy’s list for more, but before you head to your local record store, on foot or online, check out these tracks:
