This weekend is jam packed with stuff to do in the Seattle area. It seems there is a running theme this year: Cover bands. All over town, no matter what neighborhood you’re in, it seems you’ll be able to catch local artists masquerading as rock legends. Even if you don’t celebrate holidays or Halloween, I would still advice to get out there and catch one of the great shows or parties happening.
Saturday, October 27th:
Glenn or Glennda? @ Funhouse
Apparently this “gender bending Misfits tribute” band only comes out for Halloween, and at this installment they’ll be playing with The Whore Moans and Ms. Led
Chop Suey — If Mistfits covers aren’t your thing, how about a different cover night? Over at the Chop Suey, they’ll be having Halloqueen, reported “champion” Queen cover band, with Jennie and the Bets (Elton John) and Buttrock Suites Dancers (Glam Rock) opening.
Capitol Theater in Olympia — Night of the Living Tribute Band is the name of this one, and supposedly “Fleetwood Mac”, “The Smiths”, “The Doobie Brothers” and more will be there.
Wednesday, October 31st:
Skylark Cafe — They’re hosting a Halloween Battle of the Bands over at this West Seattle mainstay, featuring local artists as more famous rockstars. Prizes are being rewarded, and you’ll see “The Velvet Underground”, “Sleater-Kinney”, “John Lennon”, “Bob Dylan” and more.
