The Purrs just released their second album, “The Chemistry That Keeps Us Together” at the end of October; come celebrate with the indie-poppers at the Sunset. If you can’t make it out, catch their live in-studio performance next week here on KEXP, on November 14th.
Saturday, 10th: Minus the Bear (Rock) @ Showbox (Market) 8p & $18 & ALL-AGES
These local boys, who grouped together from broken bands six years ago, have made it big time. They even gained an interest with MTV, being honored as a Band of the Week.” Their fourth full length, “Planet of Ice” dropped this past September, kicking off with a laser light show at the Science Center. Tonight their headlining at the Showbox, with international underground stars Helio Sequence opening. From here, they take on Europe with a full tour.
Wednesday, 14th: Beep Repaired Veracity (Post-rock / experimental / ambient) @ Vera Project 7p & FREE & ALL-AGES
The good folks of Beep Repaired Records are having a showcase tonight at the Vera gallery. Their guys Correspondents and Unlearn will open, with the Family Orchestra, featuring Beast, Please Be Still, headlining to blow your mind. It will be a few hours of post-rock goodness.
Thursday, 15th: Say Hi to Your Mom @ the Crocodile 8p & $8 & ALL-AGES
It seems I’m catching bands for this blog when they’re leaving for a tour, suggesting you to wish them a good trip. Say Hi to Your Mom is actually reverse, freshly back home from a wide national tour. They’re about to release a new album early next year, there might be new material tucked into this show. Openers the Velvet Teen are currently in the midst of a tour, visiting from California.
