The vibrant NW hip-hop scene has been showcased like crazy this past weekend and upcoming week, with many thanks deserved all around. A special thank you goes out to RA Scion for sharing his fine taste in NW hip-hop on Saturday, along with the noteworthy interview with The Saturday Knights. Also, a round of applause greatly deserved for Cancer Risingwho made it out for the show as well. Most importantly, The Blue Scholars and Dave Meinert earn a huge shout out for their work putting together the massive hip-hop show series, The Program, happening all this week at Neumo’s.

This Saturday, Audioasis DJ Lisa Wood will be hosting Amateur Radio Operator at 6PM, followed by Carrie Akre at 8PM.

Proving indie rock mixed with experimental sounds and alt-country interesting, Amateur Radio Operator will help us close out this year with one of the last Audioasis shows. They brought in the year this past January, playing one of our first shows of 2007. Between the two sets, they’ve released Sirens of the Titan and played numerous shows around town.

Newly signed to Loveless Records, legendary Carrie Akre really needs no introduction. Possibly considered a NW icon, she’ll be gracing us with her sweet voice and wonderful songwriting abilities Saturday evening. She has just released her latest record, Last the Evening and will be playing many of the new songs on the show.
