Sky Cries Mary headline Audioasis live @ High Dive 2/2/08

What’s better than great live music? Great live music for a great cause, that’s what! Every month KEXP’s Audioasis broadcasts live from the High Dive in Fremont, and the proceeds benefit a different local charity. This month’s show is tomorrow night, with proceeds going the 16th Annual Seattle Human Rights Film Festival, presented by Amnesty International Puget Sound. If you can you think of a better way to spend Groundhog Day, let me know, because I sure can’t.

Join the Audioasis DJs as the live broadcast kicks off at 6:00 PM with a live set from ethereal space-rockers Sky Cries Mary. The broadcast continues as sharp-tongued, honey-voiced songwriter Daniel G. Harmann takes the stage to play selections from his stellar 2007 release Anthems from the Gentle War.

The music continues after the transmitter powers down, and we’re not talking filler here. The mighty soundscapes of Voyager One, and an encore set from Sky Cries Mary, should continue to expand your mind… well, pretty much to the breaking point. Who needs drugs? These bands are drugs.
Tickets are going fast, so you might consider getting yours in advance to make sure you get in the door. Did I mention all proceeds go to Amnesty International’s Human Rights Film Festival? Great music, great cause. See you there.

Sky Cries Mary is such a great band! What a great group of musicians. I really cant wait till their new CD “Small Town” gets released on April 1st. I heard a couple of songs off of it and it is outstanding. I know alot of College radio stations are going to start playing songs soon and some local radio stations in the Seattle Area like KUOW, KNDD, and Rainydawg are going to start playing songs in March. How awesome is that!
And I would assume that KEXP will be playing it also!
