Every Friday, we deliver a different song from a Northwest performer as part our Song of the Day podcast subscription. Today’s featured selection, chosen by Midday Show host Cheryl Waters, is Broken Teeth by Black Eyes & Neckties from the 2007 album Apparition! on ClickPop Records.

Black Eyes & Neckties – Broken Teeth (MP3)

Wow! Punk music doesn’t get more punk than this. This band out of Bellingham has been terrorizing and astounding audiences since its inception. Its members include Bradley Horror (vocals), Ryan Cadaver (guitar) and Brenda Grimm (organ), just to name a few. What began as a Halloween gig has turned into a night-after-night onstage fiasco involving fake blood and bruising — and these are merely the cosmetic elements. Their recent album took a lot longer than the band intended but consists of a healthy and well seasoned band ready to talk about their own zombies instead of just adding them for effect. Horror’s vocals slay like never before and many a guitar player will be born after watching Cadaver and Josh Homicide thrash. While waiting for the Murder City Devils next reunion, jump on the bandwagon of the next generation’s torchbearers. BENt play tonight @ the Comet with Monotonix and other local heavyweights The Cops and The Valley. If you’re in Seattle between 10-2 tonight and you feel the earth shaking, you now know the source. Stream their recent in-studio performance here as your evening pre-funk. According to their MySpace page, BENt are heading down the West Coast in March and for those not yet onboard with the band, let this performance of New Womb be your wake-up call:
