The Presidents celebrate their CD release on the Morning Show

A bit more ebb than flow of new releases this week as the tide rushes out to SXSW in Austin, where the labels are busy promoting their showcases. Still, for interested record story combers, there are definitely some worthwhile finds. Fans of the Morning Show will want to pick up the latest from The Presidents of the United States of America, who performed songs from their latest album, These Are the Good Times People, live yesterday:

Listen Now on the 14-day Streaming Archive

Also, be sure to check out the first physical release of NYC-based remixer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jason Drake, otherwise known as Cassettes Won’t Listen, and the weirdly interesting new album by Oakland band Why? Northwest releases of note include the latest by transcendental cosmonauts The Transmissionary Six and the dark folk troubadour Nick Jaina. For those who want to dig deeper, they’ll find exciting new imports from Young Knives, Supergrass, Hercules & Love Affair, and a new single by Foals. The rest of us will just have to wait for their proper U.S. release, and while we do, we can check out samples from the rest of this week’s new releases:
