Live @ SXSW: Rootz Underground, KLRU Studios 3/15

photos by Chad Syme

Rootz Underground got their start as a live band known for their jam sessions in Kingston, Jamaica. They came together in 2000 and were together 5 years before they ever recorded an album though many members have known each other since childhood. They have a new album Movement and are currently touring with Gregory Isaacs. Currently, one of the minority of bands pushing roots reggae from a town that has largely turned to dancehall beats, Rootz Underground kicks off the first ever remote broadcast of Positive Vibrations.
