New Eno/Byrne collaboration

File this under “it’s been too long” but we’ll take it now anyway. David Byrne (Talking Heads) and Brian Eno recently let it out that they have finished a new album. It’s been about 26 years or so since the last one My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts. If you were captivated with the sample-laden, ethno-funky, amazingness of My Life..., then wait until you here what Byrne calls “electronic gospel.” Rumors also have it that there will be a tour involved in this as well. Also, Radiohead doesn’t get ALL the credit for offering fans their chance to remix their song “Nude” (which has a steep price-tag by the way). Two songs from My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts have been offered up for remix way before Radiohead ever did that. The better news here is that it’s totally free; you get all 24 tracks and you can do whatever you want with them. Back in 2004 when these tracks were first released, it was the “first time complete and total access to original tracks with remix and sampling possibilities [had] been offered online.” Give a listen to what people have already uploaded.
