On the way back from their appearance at the Sasquatch! Music Festival, Mates of State stopped by the KEXP studio for a more intimate session with DJ Michele Myers. The espoused team of Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel typically perform as a duo, but this time around, to support the fully and more varied instrumental sound of their latest release, Re-Arrange Us (Barsuk), they brought along a string section. This sounds great. Looove Mates of State. Those two guys playing the additional instrumentation are in their own band called Judgement Day, which is also great.
