Best kept secret at Bumbershoot: The KEXP Music Lounge

Chona Kassinger

This year we are excited to be hosting and broadcasting live all 3 days from this years 3rd annual Bumbershoot Music Lounge (Aug 31 – Sep 1). The Music Lounge is a great place to see some outstanding bands up-close in an intimate setting with fellow KEXP listeners. In year’s past we’ve had some memorable performances (does anyone remember Andrew Bird from last year?) and this year should be no different. We have closed the online signup, but please stop by the KEXP booth on the festival grounds to pick up any leftover tickets to these special performances.

If you can’t make it to Bumbershoot this year, make sure to tune into 90.3 FM or listen online at www.kexp.org to hear broadcasts of these live performances:

Saturday, August 30th

12:00:  Asylum Street Spankers

1:15:  Thao & The Get Down Stay Down

2:30: Mono in VCF

3:45:  Nada Surf

5:30: !!!

Sunday, August 31st

12:00:  Forro in the Dark

1:15:  Orgone

2:30:  The Whigs

3:45:  Sons and Daughters

5:30:  Joshua Morrison

Monday, September 1st

12:00:  Langhorne Slim and The War Eagles

1:15:  Two Gallants

2:30:  John Vanderslice

3:45:  Old 97’s

5:30:  Black Eyes & Neckties

*Remember, this thing is a secret, so keep it on the down low. The first rule about Music Lounge, is that nobody talks about Music Lounge! You could also say “what happens in the Music Lounge, stays in the Music Lounge”. What about “if the Music Lounge is rockin’, don’t come a knockin”? OK, that last one was just weird…
