KEXP at MFNW, Day 3: Bobby Bare Jr.

photos by Kyle Johnson

Nashville’s Bobby Bare Jr. got to working with his father, the famous country star Bobby Bare, at an early age. Spending those formative years alongside his father rubbed off. Bare Jr. has taken the country baton passed on from his dad and made it a little bit punk, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll. Nowadays, attending one of his shows will get you all of the above and then some. Hell, Bare Jr. will likely throw in some Latin flare, and we haven’t yet touched on the man’s multiple personalities; one moment he’s getting something off of his chest, then he’s being the sensitive teddy bear and in between it all are the memorable comedic interludes. Bobby Bare Jr. is more than a great musician — he’s an all-around force to be reckoned with. Check him out tonight at the Doug Fir, holding down the midnight slot.

Terrific pictures. They really capture the grit and detail of a live show.
