Out This Week 11/11

A long-awaited Longwave album tops the list of new releases you’ve been hearing lately on KEXP, along with Frontier Ruckus and Love Is All. Other albums worth considering on this Veterans Day week come from Razorlight, Barbara Morgenstern, Free Blood, Seattle’s own The Sight Below, and Au Revoir Simone, who offer up a gathering of remixes. And it’s a good week for Portland artists: check out Helios, Oh Captain My Captain, and The Battle of Land and Sea for a variety of PDX sounds. Also, it’s time to start thinking of your holiday shopping, and The Flaming Lips are here to remind you with their new DVD release of Christmas On Mars. Also to that end, expect the weeks that follow to be filled with box sets and special editions. This week is no exception with multi-disc collections from Abba, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, and Cheap Trick, as well as five sweet remastered albums from New Order. Take notes from Largehearted Boy’s list and get out there.
