See Me River - Wake Up Are You Wasted (MP3)

See Me River was originally a solo vehicle for Kerry Zettel as a way to express the pretty side of his low drone-y voice, but the project grew into a fully formed band when Das Llamas took an indefinite break earlier this summer. Along with cohorts from the Das and other bands (Band of Horses, Charming Snakes, Tiny Vipers among others), Zettel began to craft haunting, glockenspiel infused Americana-laden songs that are quite a departure from the post punk music of his previous band. As you would expect from a fusion of musicians from other beloved acts, See Me River has created quite a buzz around Seattle, and the release of their second full-length with a more established roster catapulted them into one of Reverb Fest’s must see acts this year. Time Machine was released this summer on Zetell’s own label, Aviation Records, which he started with Steve King (Weird Lords) and which has also put out music from Grand Archives, Fences, Das Llamas, and Weird Lords.
