Review Revue: Christian Hound – Budgerigar

Happy snow day, everybody! During this holiday season, I thought what better band to showcase than one called Christian Hound? (I can find very little info about this band, but there are songs to be heard at the afore-linked German-language Web site.) Exactly! None! Here goes:

“Another good release on this label. Very noisy, gritty, well-constructed pop stuff. This could really grow to annoy, which in this case is good.”

“Then again, this may be another Skinny Puppy ripoff. 2.3 contains the word ‘assimilate.’ AR????? [I have no idea what this means.] If so, maybe we can put this in H — next to Holger Hiller.”

“Groove on the 3d-ish cover while you groove to the grooves on this groovy disc.”

“BLECCCCHHH! (This is a well-done LP, I was commenting on the labels.)”

“Will you two wombats just shut up!! — The Kaiser”

“By the way, there’s some good guitar-like sounds here.”

[arrow pointing to wolf on cover] “Wombat?”

“Wombat” indeed, my friend; “wombat” indeed…
