On the eve of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Eve itself, DeVotchka kicked out the old year to a full crowd of adoring fans each night at Seattle’s Showbox at the Market. Supported by Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band on Tuesday and Norfolk & Western on Wednesday, and KEXP’s own DJ Kid Hops, DeVotchka electrified the audiences with their Eastern European meets American Southwest blend of rock, folk, Tin Pan Alley, gypsy, and mariachi music.
