Bay Area rapper and longtime friend of the station, Lyrics Born stopped by KEXP’s broadcast from Opus Music Ventures studio in Berkeley earlier this year. Joined by his wife and vocalist Joyo Velarde and DJ D-Sharp on the wheels of steel, Lyrics performed a live set of songs from his recent album Everywhere At Once. Fans in the Northwest can actually catch Lyrics Born soon: he’ll be playing the Nightlight Lounge in Bellingham on April 8th and the Wonder Ballroom in Portland on the 10th. Also, he promises on his website to have new music really soon... like today! Check it out, y’all.
