This week we’re broadcasting live from the Sunset Tavern in Ballard with Hannah Levin and special co-host Don Slack (Swingin’ Doors), bringing you alt. country sets from Gerald Collier and Amateur Radio Operator. Each month for the Audioasis live broadcast, one local charity is chosen as the event’s beneficiary. This month, that charity is Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition. Seattle’s Duwamish River is polluted from over 100 years of industrial use, as well as ongoing sources from our homes, streets and industries. The Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition involves people who live, work and visit the river through technical ‘translation’ of cleanup documents, free educational events, and habitat restoration opportunities.

Gerald Collier (6:30PM) has an uncanny knack for getting under the skin to tweak at the heartstrings. With an impassioned delivery and taut sense of timing, Collier is certainly one of the most overlooked vocalists. These songs are solid and sing-a-longable.

Amateur Radio Operator (8PM) makes a rich, cinematic sound, blending the stories and characters of sepia-toned places with dynamics, volume, and variation while bridging the gap between rock and alt. country.

This night of surperior country sounds will continue well into the night with our Audioasis Showcase of Zach Harjo, Gerald Collier, Widower, and See Me River.  More info here.
