Following up his acoustic session for KEXP in Austin during SXSW, Justin Townes Earle returned to the KEXP airwaves to perform another set of old time country inspired songs in our Seattle studio. Accompanied by Cory Younts on banjo and mandolin, Justin performed “They Killed John Henry” and “Mama’s Eyes” from his excellent new album, Midnight at the Movies, an older one, “I Don’t Know,” dedicated to Woody Guthrie, and a song quite probably written by the Carter Family, “Lonesome Song,” which just so happens to be our current Video of the Week podcast.
