L.A.’s indie rock outfit Eulogies dropped in on the Morning Show with John Richards a couple weeks ago to perform songs from their new album, Here Anonymous. Thoughtful, melodic, with a tinge of folk and, on one song here, with a bit of jukejoint harmonica, Eulogies’ music cuts a steady arc and relies on the gravity of the lyrics rather than on falsely affecting dynamics. There’s a lot here to love for fans of Pedro the Lion, Nada Surf, and other strong songwriter-centric bands.
