Thug life, indeed. John Vanderslice, indie rock’s baddest of bad boys (we kid!), performed a solo set at the KEXP and Caffe Vita presented “Acoustic at The Woods” sessions during Musicfest NW this month. Joining other musical guests including Langhorne Slim (videos here), Bobby Bare Jr., and The Lonely Forest, at the funeral home turned music venue in Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood, JV played a few newer songs, and one slightly older song, for the thrifty fans in attendance seeking a free and most excellent show.
