There’s no wonder this band has made a few “Bands to watch in 2009″ lists. This Melbourne four-piece has exploded onto the scene this year with an amazing full-length album entitled Conditions, which has turned a few heads to say the least. The band recorded the new album in New York and Australia with Producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, U.N.K.L.E, Bjork) to great results. Amazing falsetto vocals and fantastic guitar work are an immediately distinctive part of their unique signature sound -- maybe somewhere between Curtis Mayfield and Radiohead -- but they’re a band you hate to try and pin down to a genre because of their originality. The band has really started to gain a head of steam this year with huge appearances at SXSW and Reading/Leeds Festivals as well as critical acclaim by Pitchfork and the BBC. All for good reason. If this music doesn’t get your head bopping and your fingers tapping, nothing will. Looking for the next big thing? These guys are it. Trust us on this one.
