DJ Sharlese’s Top Videos of 2009

Hi, I’m DJ Sharlese and I like to listen to music and watch TV, so naturally I like music videos.

In no particular order, here are my favorite videos of 2009:

The Horrors – Mirror’s Image
Butterflies and Flowers… I’d like to call this video a horrifying kaleidoscope. Watch with influence *wink*

No Age – Losing Feeling
This video is one perfect adventure.

Yeasayer – Ambling Alp
I keep telling everyone that I never liked this band, but now I’m the biggest lover in the world. This song is epic, the video is epic, I want to be the video mistress massaging Chris Keating’s face for Halloween or at least run around naked with a mirror face in a desert and get drenched in sliver shiny blood, in my personal time…

Grizzly Bear – Ready, Able
This video… I can watch over and over. I don’t understand it as it is a short story, but the colors and spaceship and the monster and the little monsters… I will say no more except, WATCH because there’s so much more!

Simian Mobile Disco – Audacity of Huge
Grape Kool-Aide, Gold Thongs and Tammy Faye Milk Chocolate Butterscotch. So much fun.

Girls – Lust for Life (XXX)
One of the hottest videos I’ve ever encountered…

Rainbow Arabia – Omar K
Have you ever wanted to go to a grocery store and cause havoc? I don’t have children but I have a cat named Gunner who I consider my child and if he wanted to dance and cause havoc we would do it just like this.

Matt & Kim – Lessons Learned
Time Square and feeling free. What a shock! You’ll understand after you watch.

The Shaky Hands – Already Gone
Cute. Just plain f*ing cute.

Shabazz Palaces – Belhaven Meridian
One of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Beautifully shot, super captivating, brilliant.

…and this wouldn’t be a top 10 list without honorable mentions!

Macklemore – The Town
Heart. There’s nothing more to say.

Grand Archives – Minature Birds
A cute kid and alpacas!

Telekinesis – Tokyo
I went to Toyko in my dreams too and it was like this.

    One more –

    Vitalic – Your Disco Song
I didn’t realize how much I loved Disco Balls until I watched this video. I also think I might need to see a doctor soon…
